Anneli Ojapalo
Anneli is a Senior Consultant at Spinverse, and has broad industrial experience in technology and business development of emerging technologies. Anneli is the coordinator of Tekes’ Fuel Cell Technology Programme and Tekes’ Functional Materials Technology Programme, and chairs the thematic group “Materials & Processes” in Tekes’ FinNano Technology Program.

Anneli is specialised in polymer technology, functional materials, and in innovative product concepts which integrate mechanics and electronics. Her current focus areas are nano materials and fuel cells.

Anneli has previously worked for Perlos Corporation as Director, New Concept Development & IPR. Her long career in industry covers various positions in R&D, telecommunications, healthcare, business management and corporate business development. Anneli’s has a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering and MBA, both from Helsinki University of Technology. Her hobbies include orienteering and running.


Markku Heino
Markku is a Senior Consultant at Spinverse and has wide experience in materials technology from scientific research in academia to strategic application oriented R&D and practical product development applying new materials in industrial applications.

At Spinverse Markku is as a specialist regarding functional materials and nanotechnology. He is also the coordinator for Tekes Functional Materials Programme.

Previously Markku worked at Nokia Research Center, exploring new technologies and developed novel materials based solutions for future multimedia devices. At Nokia, Markku managed a multidisciplinary research team dealing with various materials and actively co-operated with different organizations in several technology areas. The last 2 years Markku was Principal Scientist in NRCīs NanoSciences laboratory making focused scientific research on functional nanomaterials with top university groups.

Before Nokia, Markku was R&D Manager at Draka NK Cables, where he was responsible for material development, dedicated R&D projects and application of new materials for mass production of high performance mobile networks and fiber optic cables.

Markku has a D.Sc. (Tech) degree at Helsinki University of Technology (TKK), where he is currently Docent of Polymer technology.

Markku enjoys family life with his wife and two children. His current hobbies include junior football, roller skating and walking in the nature.

Johanna Saari
Johanna is a consultant at Spinverse, with a particular focus on renewable energy. She assists with the coordination of the Tekes Fuel Cell programme. Previously she worked as a product manager of distributed energy systems and before that she got working experience from Metso Paper finishing line machinery. She has Licentiate and M.Sc degrees in Process Engineering from the University of Oulu, and during her postgraduate studies Johanna carried out research with a number of globally renowned forest technology companies. In her free time, she enjoys running, travelling, cooking, culture and golf.

Laura Kauhanen
Laura K. is working as a consultant at Spinverse, coordinating the Tekes Functional Materials programme. She has a D.Sc. (Tech) degree on Cognitive Technology from the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Computational Science and M.Sc degree in Electrical Engineering from the Helsinki University of Technology. For her Doctoral Thesis she developed a machine for controlling computers by thought. Laura has also business experience from her work at a leading international asset management firm. In her spare time, she enjoys golf, yoga, and reading fairy tales with her sons.

Laura Juvonen
Laura J. is a consultant at Spinverse, with core focus on nanotechnology. She is responsible for the coordination of the Tekes FinNano Programme.

Laura is specialised in the fields of nanotechnology, materials science and computational engineering. She has D.Sc. (Tech.) degree from the field of Computational Materials Science and M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Helsinki University of Technology, Finland. She has also worked in researcher exchange at the University of Georgia, US, and the Oxford University, UK. In her spare time, Laura enjoys tennis and spinning, as well as spending time with her daughter.
