Administrative Forms: Ethics

Instructions:

Each project is required to do an ethics evaluation regarding the project’s activities. If the project activities include e.g. researching on human participants, cells, tissues, animals, handling of personal data, NON-EU countries, military applications, or potential for misuse, this needs to be indicated. The Administrative Forms contains a questionnaire that will structure the answer. It provides a list of Yes/No questions. The coordinator, together with at the very minimum the partners involved in the development and testing of the project results, should answer the questionnaire.

If the answer to any is Yes, additional questions may need to be answered. These points also need to be discussed in more detail in the Ethics section in Chapter 5. Depending on the question, there are some specific requirements that need to be complied to. A full list of the requirements per question can be found in the EC guide on How to complete your ethics self-assessment. (http://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/data/ref/h2020/grants_manual/hi/ethics/h2020_hi_ethics-self-assess_en.pdf)

If all are No, do a quick review of those that are potential maybes in the eyes of an external reader.  These points should be clarified in the Ethics section in Chapter 5.

Each proposal that is evaluated to receive funding will go through an additional Ethics evaluation. The ethics reviewers may require clarifications or force actions to be taken either prior funding, or during the first months of the project.
