Freelancer Financial specialist

We are seeking an experienced EU Project Finance Specialist to support in the budgeting and financial management of mainly Horizon Europe health projects. As a freelancer you will work as part of the Spinverse team in close collaboration with project coordinators and consortium partners to ensure correct budget preparation and/or accurate financial reporting, as required, in line with Horizon Europe requirements. Your support will be required during peak times of proposal preparation or project reporting, mainly during the February to September period, on an hourly basis.

Main responsibilities

• Provide guidance to project partners on Horizon Europe financial rules, cost eligibility, documentation requirements.
• Support partners in proposal budgeting, monitoring correctness and completeness of input. Ensure timely collection of partner data, complete total consortium budget in required EU templates and systems.
• Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and partner financial performance across work packages and budget categories.

 Profile requirement

• Knowledge of EU financial rules in Horizon Europe and/or other EU funding programmes, including eligible costs, cost category rules, budgeting and reporting processes
• Finance/accounting/auditing background
• Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in an international consortium environment.
• Ability to work in English

  Desirable assets

• Experience with the Funding & Tenders Portal
• Strong Excel and financial tracking skills
• Previous experience in health or research projects
