Impact - 2.1 Expected Impact

Instructions

Here you are expected to show in detail how the project contributes to the specific impacts listed in the work programme and the call. Be specific and quantifiable. Give amounts in percentages, euros, kWh, etc. and give sufficient proof on those claims.

Familiarise yourself with both and refer to the challenges there, as well as the impacts specifically listed in the call text.

Then include a detailed example of all the short term impacts your project will have. Use the expected impacts of the call text as your sub paragraph topics. Be clear and precise. Give amounts, numbers, concrete results, and references to research, where applicable. Do the same to long term impacts, as best you are able.

Example of call text mentioned impacts of SU-DS01-2018: Cybersecurity preparedness

Also expand on any impacts that are not specifically mentioned, but where you can make a difference in enhancing innovation, creating new market potential, strengthen competitiveness and growth of companies participating, issues with climate change, or any other benefits to society.

Next, include the market data for your research. What are the drivers? What are the barriers? Show that this project has relevant market implications. Include graphs and images from the market analysis you refer to. You should also include barriers you may come across in the project, or after the project when aiming to exploit the results obtained. Think of market barriers. These can be:

  • Regulations
  • Standards
  • Public acceptance
  • Workforce limitations
  • Financing of follow-up or further commercialisation
  • Cooperation with other links in the value chain
  • Etc.

Next describe the  impact the work has to partner organisations and opportunities the project enables to the partners, or their stakeholders across the entire value chain. You can tabulate key impacts you expect.

Use enough pages to give a thorough view of the market and convince the reader of the impact your project has on them. Use full references, where applicable. Be as detailed as you can.

Example

WIDGET will bring impact to dynamic countering of cyber-attacks. By using artificial intelligence it is possible to do detect emerging cyber attacks reducing response time and increase resilience of the ICT systems.

Project  aim is to increase their ability to recover from a potential cyber threat and reduce recovery time by 50%. Furthermore, the WIDGET will enable better econometric models to identify the actual impact of a cyber attack to manufacturing floor.

The technology enables  improved co-operation of the CSIRT Network across the EU, which is one of the key targets of the NIS Directive.

WIDGET will be designed to provide CSIRTs an API interface so that WIDGET data can offer immediate incident information to CSIRT network and alert CSIRTS to ongoing malicious activities. WIDGET integrated with European CSIRT network, this increased collaboration can have a 1 B€ annual impact as demonstrated by the market example of …
