Industriklivet
Industriklivet (‘Industry Leap’) is Sweden’s flagship funding programme for accelerating the transition to fossil-free and climate-neutral industry. Managed by the Swedish Energy Agency, the programme supports feasibility studies, research and innovation projects, pilot and demonstration activities, as well as large-scale industrial investments that can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
As a key instrument in Sweden’s journey towards climate neutrality by 2045, Industriklivet enables companies to develop, demonstrate and scale innovative technologies with substantial climate impact.

Funding is available to companies, research organisations and other project partners contributing to industrial decarbonisation. Funding rates depend on project type and applicable EU state aid rules.

What does Industriklivet support?
Projects eligible for funding must demonstrate significant potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support the transition to fossil-free industry. Funding is aimed at innovative technologies, industrial transformation and long-term climate impact. Industriklivet supports projects in areas such as:
- Fossil-free production processes
- Industrial electrification
- Hydrogen production and use in industry
- Carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS)
- Negative emission technologies, including BECCS
- Energy and resource efficiency improvements
- Process innovation reducing industrial emissions
- Pilot, demonstration and first-of-a-kind industrial investments
Funding type: Grant

How the proposal process works
- Identify a relevant Industriklivet call and assess project eligibility
- Develop the project concept and establish project partnerships
- Define objectives, climate impact, implementation plan and budget
- Prepare and submit the proposal through the Swedish Energy Agency’s portal
- Evaluation and funding decision by the Swedish Energy Agency
- Project start, reporting and follow-up for approved projects.
Preparation time:
