CH-Bioforce: An industrial-size biomass processing plant
CH-Bioforce’s technology extracts cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin from biomass in a single process, producing pure biomaterials for sustainable chemical, textile and packaging applications. The company plans to build an industrial-scale biomass processing plant.

About the project
As opposed to the 50% or even less of biomass usage in traditional cellulose plants, CH-Bioforce technology can fractionate 95% of the biomass components. Their technology can utilise almost any biomass, which means that it is not tied to any particular biomass type. For example, agricultural straw could be fractionated with CH-Bioforce's solution to dissolve cellulose, polymeric hemicellulose and sulphur-free lignin. The company is looking into scaling up their operations by building an industrial-sized biorefinery plant, which will be the only one in Finland to be able to produce polymeric hemicellulose at this scale.
Impact of the project:
New sustainable feedstock alternatives for example for chemical, textile and packaging applications.
