About the project
The German Chips Competence Centre (G3C) aims to serve as a central point of contact that facilitates access for German companies, start-ups and research institutions to European semiconductor research and pilot infrastructures. It connects the German chip ecosystem with Europe-wide design and manufacturing pilot lines, coordinates their use, and thereby promotes innovation, prototyping, and market entry, in particular for SMEs with limited resources.
Impact of the project:
G3C bundles information, provides guidance on the use of cutting-edge technologies, e.g. advanced packaging or photonic integrated circuits, and coordinates training and qualification programmes. G3C also represents Germany within the European Network of Chips Competence Centres and strengthens the international visibility, competitiveness and technological resilience of Germany’s semiconductor sector within the EU Chips Act.
