About the project
SUSPENSE consortium will focus on creating adhesives from renewable feedstocks such as bio-acids, polyphenolics, proteins and other bio-derived materials. The developed adhesives will meet market demands and regulatory standards and will be used in wood-based panels such as plywood, particle board and MDF, as well as wood-based insulation materials. The technical performance of the adhesives will be validated through comprehensive industrial testing.
Impact of the project:
Over ten years of operation, GRIP is estimated to save more than 2.5 million tonnes of CO₂ equivalent, roughly equal to the annual emissions of around 300,000 households or the carbon absorption of approximately 5 million trees.

Spinverse supported ecop in developing a high-quality Innovation Fund proposal, identifying areas that required further evidence or refinement and helping the team strengthen the application against the funding instrument’s evaluation criteria.
Following the successful funding decision, Spinverse continues to support GRIP through project management services.
The high level of support and keen eye for detail from the team was instrumental in, but not limited to, compiling our successful application. Indeed, this work ethic extended post GA, into the implementation phase where the understanding and ability to quickly identify the right approach from both Sergei and Mikko is helping us progress with clarity and momentum.
