About the project
The GRIP project will build and operate a dedicated manufacturing facility with capacity to produce 100 Rotation Heat Pump units annually. The project will scale microchannel diffusion bonding and introduce a novel electrochemical machining method, enabling wider use of the technology in industry, district heating, data centres and geothermal applications. The the construction and operation of a dedicated manufacturing facility for Rotation Heat Pumps is a global first of its kind.
Impact of the project:
Over ten years of operation, GRIP is estimated to save over 2.5 million tonnes of CO₂ equivalent, roughly equal to the annual emissions of approx. 300,000 households or the carbon absorption of approx. 5 million trees. It will also contribute to economic growth and create jobs in Austria.

Spinverse’s role
Spinverse supported ecop in developing a high-quality Innovation Fund proposal, identifying areas that required further evidence or refinement and helping the team strengthen the application against the funding instrument’s evaluation criteria.
Following the successful funding decision, Spinverse continues to support GRIP through project management services.
The high level of support and keen eye for detail from the team was instrumental in, but not limited to, compiling our successful application. Indeed, this work ethic extended post GA, into the implementation phase where the understanding and ability to quickly identify the right approach from both Sergei and Mikko is helping us progress with clarity and momentum.
