European Urban Initiatives: A call for innovative actions with deadline in mid-June

European Urban Initiatives has recently launched their fourth Call for Proposals: Innovative Actions. The call is targeting to finance city projects which drive innovation at a local level. Get in touch with Spinverse experts if you are considering to apply.  

The deadline for this call is 15th of June, 2026. This is therefore the perfect time to make a decision to apply.

European Urban Initiatives - what is it all about? 

  • The call is open to cities with more than 25,000 inhabitants
  • A project can receive up to a maximum of €2 million in European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) co-financing 
  • The funding rate is 80% for a 2 year-project.

The call aims for regional innovations,  including 6 different themes:

  • Topic 1: Competitiveness, digitalisation, innovation and investment
  • Topic 2: Social inclusion and equality
  • Topic 3: Security, safety and preparedness
  • Topic 4: Affordable, sustainable, decent-quality and inclusive housing and buildings
  • Topic 5: Climate action, environment and clean energy
  • Topic 6: Mobility

The total budget for the call is planned to be €60 million in ERDF, which means a great chance of getting funded for those who send in a compelling funding proposal.
